New materials are the engine for new production processes and products. In addition, new materials make a significant contribution to cost reduction in production. With the "Materials Innovations for Industry and Society - WING", which was launched in early 2004, will give the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF), the interdisciplinary materials technologies new impetus.
